A bit earlier today we identified a few cars that are common today that would still not look out of place back in 1985. However, some modern cars would be very difficult to explain to someone from 1985.
10 - Cadillac CTS-V Wagon
556 hp was not even imaginable in a Lamborghini back then, let alone a Caddy, and a Caddy wagon, with a manual. Get out !

A porsche with an electric engine that is faster the 1985 F1 cars ?
5 - 2015 Cadillac Escalade
Even people of 2015 are losing their shit in front of all of this ballerness. That’s just too much in-you-face-ness for one to handle.
4 - Ford F150
What, America’s favorite workhorse is now a luxury 4 doors behemot made of aluminium and powered by a turbo engine ?

A real electric car that work for real, that is faster than anything back in 1985, that even drive itself and come with more on board computing power than 1985’s NASA ?

This is the one 1985 vehicle that no-one saw coming. Big horsepower, sure. Electric cars, not so crazy. A solid, high-performance luxury sedan from Hyundai? Not a chance.

Minivans may have been fairly progressive in 1985, but in no way would this make 1985 people lose their shit. It’d rather lead them to believe that cars won’t change at all in the following 30 years. It even looks like a first gen Dodge Caravan.

Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Mercury were big sellers in the mid 1980s.
